The Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) provides services to people with a variety of language and communication problems.. The SLP is able to work with persons of all different ages, from infancy to advanced seniors who may be experiencing a variety of problems such as:
- feeding or swallowing,
- speech or articulation,
- delayed language skills,
- difficulty with reading or writing,
- aphasia due to a stroke or other types of brain damage,
- developmental delay,
- hearing impairment,
- throat cancer
- other neurological disorders.
The SLP may help the individual engage in activities to improve understanding and the use of words and sentences. The SLP may teach compensatory strategies to convey ideas through gestures, drawing or pointing. In some cases, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices/strategies may allow people to communicate and express themselves more efficiently. Additionally your SLP may use computer programs, auditory and visual feedback, and exercises to facilitate an effective treatment session.
Your SLP treatment session is high energy and offers individual and group sessions to optimize outcomes.
